Blasphemous blade is the demon Paladin's weapon and was already one of the strongest weapons in the game as you probably know, but it's Ash of War actually got a slide buff as well after the 1.07 patch making it even better. Buffs are just meant to amplify damage further, which you can't do with the faith path if i'm not mistaken. While yes, people may run, its still a nice way to amp the damage.
